Painless Single Tooth Anaesthesia with STA Wand

Dental Garden’s Dental Rescue Day for Disadvantaged Australians

Painless Single Tooth Anaesthesia with STA Wand

Dental Garden is excited to announce the addition of the cutting-edge STA Wand to our dental services. This innovative technology ensures painless single tooth anaesthesia for both children and adults, revolutionising dental procedures and enhancing patient comfort.

The STA Wand, short for Single Tooth Anaesthesia, allows for precise and controlled delivery of anaesthesia to a single tooth, eliminating the discomfort and anxiety associated with traditional injections. This breakthrough technology is particularly beneficial for patients who experience dental anxiety or have a low pain threshold.

Key Benefits of the STA Wand:

  • Painless Administration: The STA Wand ensures a virtually painless experience, making dental visits more pleasant and stress-free.
  • Precision: The device delivers anaesthesia with pinpoint accuracy, targeting only the affected tooth and minimising numbness in surrounding areas.
  • Comfort for All Ages: The STA Wand is suitable for both children and adults, providing a gentle and effective solution for patients of all ages.
  • Reduced Anxiety: By eliminating the discomfort of traditional injections, the STA Wand helps reduce dental anxiety and fosters a more relaxed environment for patients.

At Dental Garden, we focus on providing the highest level of care and the latest advancements in dental technology. The introduction of the STA Wand aligns with our mission to enhance patient experiences and ensure the best possible outcomes for their oral health.

“We are thrilled to offer our patients this advanced technology that significantly improves the comfort and efficiency of dental procedures,” said Dr Frances Ershad, lead dentist at Dental Garden. “The STA Wand represents a major leap forward in dental care, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this innovation.”

Experience the difference at Dental Garden and see why so many families trust us with their dental care. Make Dental Garden your regular dentist and share the benefits with your friends and family.

Dental Garden’s Dental Rescue Day for Disadvantaged Australians

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Dental Garden Hunters Hill hosted a remarkable event—the Dental Rescue Day. This special day was dedicated to serving our community by providing essential dental services to those who often face barriers to access: disadvantaged and underprivileged Australians.

At Dental Garden, we believe that oral health is a fundamental right for everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status. Partnering with the Filling the Gap charity, we set out to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Our team of dedicated professionals volunteered their time and expertise to ensure that no smile was left behind.

Our patients on Dental Rescue Day were more than just names on a schedule—they were real people with unique stories. Some had never received proper dental care due to financial constraints, while others faced additional challenges such as homelessness or disability. Despite their hardships, they arrived at our clinic with hope and trust, seeking relief from pain and a chance to regain their smiles.

Throughout the day, our compassionate team offered a range of dental services:

  1. Emergency Treatments: Immediate relief for toothaches, infections, and other urgent dental issues.
  2. Cleanings and Exams: Comprehensive check-ups to assess oral health and identify any underlying problems.
  3. Fillings and Restorations: Repairing cavities and restoring damaged teeth.
  4. Extractions: When necessary, extractions were performed with care and empathy.
  5. Education and Prevention: We empowered our patients with knowledge about oral hygiene and preventive measures.

As the day unfolded, we witnessed the transformation of more than just teeth. We saw hope rekindled, pain alleviated, and self-esteem restored. For many patients, this was their first positive experience with dental care—a moment they would carry with them long after leaving our clinic.

We feel immensely proud and honored to have been part of Dental Rescue Day. Our gratitude extends to our entire team, including Dr. Frances Ershad, Dr. Winston Lee, and our dedicated dental assistants Shaina Bhudia, Anna Enkhbayar and Tanya Bianca Schreurs who helped out and volunteered. Their commitment to service exemplifies the spirit of Dental Garden.

Dental Rescue Day was not just a one-time event; it’s a commitment we hold dear. We pledge to continue supporting our community, advocating for accessible dental care, and spreading smiles far and wide.

Thank you to all our patients, volunteers, and partners who made this day possible. Together, we bridge gaps, one smile at a time.

Research Spotlight: “Fiber Reinforcement of a Resin-Modified Glass Ionomer Cement”

In the Journal of Dental Materials, Volume 36, Issue 12 (December 2020), our team contributed groundbreaking research on the topic of fiber reinforcement in resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC). Here are the key findings:

  1. Improved Mechanical Properties: Fibers play a crucial role in enhancing the mechanical properties of RMGIC. Compared to traditional glass ionomer cement (GIC) matrices, our RMGIC matrix demonstrated significant improvements.
  2. Braided Long Fibers: We explored the use of braided long fibers as reinforcement. These fibers exhibited higher flexural strength when compared to discontinuous short fibers.
  3. Resin Pre-Impregnation: Pre-impregnating the braided long fibers with resin resulted in a remarkable 300% increase in flexural strength relative to the capsule control.

Our research sheds light on the effective use of fibers in dental restorations, contributing to stronger and more durable outcomes. For more details, you can explore the full research article here1.

At Dental Garden, we stay at the forefront of dental science to provide you with exceptional care. Come experience our commitment to excellence!
